Steps to make Apple Upside Down:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and set the rack in the center.
  2. Prepare a 9" round baking pan with spray oil and parchment paper to avoid sticking.
  3. For the apples, prepare them then set them aside after mixing them with some lemon and cinnamon
  4. In a small sauce pan and over medium heat, mix the melted butter with the raw sugar until it has a caramel consistency
  5. Pour the caramel into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly
  6. Line up the apple sticks on top the caramel in an orderly fashion then set the pan aside
  7. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with the sugar well. Then add the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt to the mix.
  8. Add the baking powder to the flour and mix gently
  9. Add half flour and half of the milk to the bowl and mix gently. Add the remaining of the flour and milk and mix but don't over mix
  10. Pour the cake mix on top of the lined up apples and spread evenly
  11. Bake for 60 minutes or until golden brown on top. Careful not to scorch the carmel. Use your sense of smell
  12. Cool it off for few minutes then flip it on a serving plate
  13. Serve it next to a ball of vanilla ice cream. It is a delight
