  8. Make ready 1 tbsp light soy sauce,
  9. Take 2 tsp fish sauce,
  10. Get 1.5 tsp garlic granules,
  11. Take 1/2 chicken stock cube,
  12. Prepare 1 tsp sugar or sugar replacement,
  13. Take 1 pinch salt,
  14. Get 1/4 tsp MSG (optional),
  15. Take 1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 2tbsp cold water,
  16. Take 1 tbsp cooking oil, such as vegetable or rapeseed,
  17. Make ready Boiled water, around 1/3rd kettle full
  18. Get To serve:
  19. Prepare Steamed rice, (75g dry weight per person)

Then add the chopped broccoli and sauté for a few more minutes with the chicken, until it turns bright green and slightly tender (but I like mine to still be very crisp). Transfer to a plate with a slotted spoon, leaving any oil in the pan. Drain well and place in a shallow flameproof dish. Method For the chicken, place the chicken into a bowl, add the light soy sauce and black pepper and toss well, then set aside.

  1. Heat up a wok over a high heat and add the cooking oil. Once hot add in the chicken slices and begin to brown off on all sides. Season with salt and the garlic granules. Next add in the chopped spring onions, broccoli and fine green beans. Toss everything together.
  2. Add in the MSG and the green chillies, and fry off with the greens. Turn down the heat to medium. Crumble in the chicken stock and pour in enough boiling water to cover the ingredients halfway up. Bring to a simmer. Add in the fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce and sugar. Stir everything together.
  3. Reduce down by half and until the greens are tender but with a little bite to then still. Add in the beanspouts and the cornflour mix. Stir until the sauce begins to thicken. Continue to simmer a while longer then remove from the heat once a flavourful sauce has been created.
  4. Serve up with some steamed white rice and enjoy. :)

Drain well and place in a shallow flameproof dish. Method For the chicken, place the chicken into a bowl, add the light soy sauce and black pepper and toss well, then set aside. Bring a pan of salted water to the boil, add the sprouting broccoli. This Chinese Chicken and Broccoli is just as tasty and fresh as something you'd get from the Chinese. In fact, it's pretty close to how the Chinese takeaway will make it - only minus the oil, sugar, and sesame oil!
