Butter Naan is one of the most popular of current trending foods on earth. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It’s appreciated by millions daily. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Butter Naan is something which I’ve loved my entire life.
Butter is quintessential to a delicious naan! Last, but not the least, Naan dough can be made vegan if you replace milk with coconut milk. If it was not for my love of authentic-butter-naan, I would have skipped butter and milk to keep the recipe "vegan" for you. Naan is a leavened flatbread mostly cooked in a tandoor (clay oven).
To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have butter naan using 9 ingredients and 16 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.
The ingredients needed to make Butter Naan:
- Get 2 cups maida/all-purpose flour
- Prepare 1/2 cup curd
- Make ready 1/2 cup Baking powder
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- Take 1 tbsp Sugar
- Make ready 1/2 tsp Salt
- Get 1 tbsp Nigella seeds(kalonji)
- Get as required Mint/coriander leaves
- Make ready as required Butter
Butter Naan is served with Red curry sabzi, dal tadka, dal fry, any veg sabzi, paneer sabzi, etc. With your hands, blend the butter into the flour until it forms coarse crumbs. You can do this in a blender as well, but the dough when worked with hands gives a better texture to the dough. Butter: and of course a good naan in my opinion has to be brushed with butter once done.
Steps to make Butter Naan:
- Take a vessel add maida, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar mix well.
- Now add curd, mix it well. Add water and knead the flour into dough.
- Cover it & leave for 30 mins
- After 30 minutes knead the dough once again.
- Make dough balls.
- Take one dough ball and dust it with flour & roll it.
- Sprinkle kalonji & coriander leaves and roll it again.
- Use iron tawa for making naan
- Keep water in a bowl.
- Heat the tawa, and take one naan and apply water on the back.
- Place it on tawa & cook it for few seconds on medium flame.
- Flip the tawa on direct flame.
- Cook it till it turns brown.
- Scratch it to remove the naan from tawa.
- Apply butter on naan.
- Now butter naan is ready to serve.
You can do this in a blender as well, but the dough when worked with hands gives a better texture to the dough. Butter: and of course a good naan in my opinion has to be brushed with butter once done. So, from the ingredients list it is pretty obvious that you don't require any fancy ingredients for naan. Heat the oven to its lowest setting and put the cooked naan bread on a baking sheet. Brush with a little melted butter and cover with foil.
