Boil the mocha with little bit of turmeric and salt till almost cooked. Then drain the water and keep aside. In a bowl marinate the prawns with a little bit of turmeric and salt. Now heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns till golden in color and also fry the potatoes till golden in color and keep aside.
Instructions to make Mocha Chingri Gonto (Banana Flower with prawn):
- Remove the Petals and florets from banana flower. Take out the pistil and calyx. Chopped florets and add in cold water and wash it.
- Boil the florets with little bit of turmeric powder and salt till almost cooked. Then drain the water and mashed the florets and keep it aside.
- In a bowl marinade the prawn and potatoes with turmeric powder and salt.
- Heat a pan with oil and fry the prawns till golden colour and also fry the potato till golden colour and keep it aside.
- In a same pan temper cumin seeds and bay leaf. Then add chopped onion and ginger paste and Cooked till onion translucent. Then add chopped tomato and cooked it for 2-3 minutes. Add chili powder turmeric powder cumin powder coriander powder along with salt and sugar and mix well till the rawness of the spices is gone. And masala leaves the side of the pan.
- Add mashed florets and mix it well then add grated coconut mix it well with masala.
- Add the prawns and potatoes cook it for another 10-15 minutes.add garam masala powder and ghee.Cook for 2-3 minutes more. Switch off the flame
- Serve hot with steamed rice
